FIFA on GameCube – First Time Playing FIFA in Over a Decade (Full First Half Gameplay on Batocera)
It’s been well over 10 years since I last played a FIFA game — and instead of jumping into the latest release, I decided to go back to where it all started for me.
In this video, I return to FIFA on the Nintendo GameCube, playing the entire first half of a match using my Batocera retro gaming setup.
This isn’t modern FIFA.
This is old-school football gaming.
Returning to FIFA After 10+ Years
Stepping back into FIFA after more than a decade was honestly surreal.
The controls feel different.
The pace feels faster.
The gameplay is simpler — but also refreshingly fun.
Modern football games focus heavily on realism, online modes, and microtransactions. Classic FIFA on GameCube feels more arcade-style and straightforward.
And yes — there’s definitely some rust in my gameplay 😅
